Plastic Bottle collection in Norway

Plastic Bottle collection in Norway

One of the most interesting culture i have lived and seen while my stay in Norway is being responsible enough of our actions especially in terms of waste disposal.

I found this one of the smart and interesting culture / business one has to be responsible of despite of status. And there you earn some good money from the bottles written on pants. This is one way or another  of recycling which is the efficient plans that is taught by locals in Norway since childhood.

This is one of the Program to help, preserve and protect nature. In the state with empty bottles, you can redeem many of them and you sell your plastic  bottles  to a recycling centres  or stores that accepts plastic bottles  top earn some cash, usually 2 to 3 Krone a bottle. You pay the deposit when you buy the product, so redeeming these empties is a great way to recycle while   putting a little change back in your pocket depending on how much you have collected.

I came to realise its one way one can be responsible because you cannot litter bottles in Norway. Actually i sampled to find out in trash cans along in the city centres to find out if i can pick some bottles but it was a no way deal that people cannot throw their bottles because it is known by every one.

I compared this way with the one in Uganda collecting bottles is seen as a black collar job and it done by young people who do not know where to eat.Ugandans do not have culture of proper plastic collection so they end up throwing /littering bottles anyhow throughout the window while the car is moving. I came to realise Kampala generates over 350,000 tonnes of solid waste every year but only half of it is collected. But now the city's unemployed are turning this environmental hazard into a job opportunity.

With the increasing urbanisation ,plastic management is a major issue that the country is facing daily for a couple of years. This improper disposal has been causing negative impacts on our environment.

Therefore there this calls for being responsible citizens in terms of our actions so as to protect our nature.
